The source of this test is unknown but it has been around a long time and is quite reliable in the diagnosis of Candida albicans overgrowth.

It is known as the Candida saliva test or the Candida spit test.

First thing in the morning, before you put anything in your mouth, get a clear glass of water. Work up a bit of saliva, and then spit into the water. Check the water every 15 minutes or so for up to an hour. If you have a candida problem yeast overgrowth, you will see strings (like legs) traveling down into the water from the saliva floating on the top, or "cloudy" saliva will sink to the bottom of the glass, or cloudy specks will seem to be suspended in the water.

If there are no strings and the candida is still floating after one hour, you probably have candida under control. if you are using one of our recomended products, you can continue to test yourself. You will start to see fewer and fewer "strings" once you are getting it under control.

Healthy saliva will be clear, it will float on top and it will slowly dissolve into the water without any cloudiness and without sinking. There are normally some bubbles or foam present.

Candida saliva will have one or more characteristics that point to a Candida albicans overgrowth:
•Strings traveling down to the bottom of the glass
•Cloudy saliva that sinks to the bottom of the glass
•Cloudy specks suspended in the water

The more strings and cloudiness there are, and the faster it develops, the greater the Candida albicans overgrowth.

What does a test involve ?

During the consultation Over 120 substances will be tested which include common foods and drinks, E numbers, Enviromental Products, Pets, Moulds, Trees, Shrubs, Cigarettes, Vitamins and mineral will also be checked and a lot of other unusual products, We also do a candida / Yeast check, we can also test your own products and perfumes.
The equipment we use is a bio-electronic analyzer ( vega machine )which measures the body's electrical resistance to the afore mentioned substances. If a substance is causing a problem then it will effect the body's electrical resistance. The test is completely painless and is best described as a ball point pen touching the tip of your finger upon a acupuncture point

How long does it take?
A Consultation with our allergy therapist takes approximately 45 - 60 minutes or maybe on the rare occasion it may sometimes take longer depending on the severity of any food intolerance's on the individual person although the results of the test are instantaneous we may need to give the person extra nutritional advice & counseling. Who can be tested?
This test is suitable for anyone other than those with a pacemaker and any aged child subject to them being on solid foods. If it is a baby that need testing then please ring for advice, it is more difficult to test a baby but it can be done. but the parent will need to be checked first, Toddler and young children can also be tested, however it is more difficult to test a child up to the age of 7 as they get very restless so it may have to be done in 2 stages. this will be advised on enquiry
How many tests will I need?
We tend to find only one test is necessary as our trained allergy therapists are able to provide ongoing support and advise, through our dedicated help-line. However if more in-depth therapy is required Allergytest4u.com is able to offer you the service of one of it's qualified Nutritional Therapists. (This will incur a separate fee.)
It is generally advisable, however that at least one follow up appointment is made to revisit the therapist one month after the test (at a discounted cost), to monitor progress whilst carrying out any eliminations of food from your diet.
Will I have to avoid certain foods forever?
This will depend on whether your body can tolerate the food once it has been reintroduced into your diet, after an initial 4 week programme.
